Saturday, September 6th, I had the pleasure of styling the Chicago wedding of Amanda Czernecki and Nathan Suh. If you live in Chicago, you have probably heard Amanda’s voice on the radio or have seen her pretty mug on TV, as one of our own Chicago traffic reporters. As a talented musician, it is no surprise that Nathan finally met Amanda at a Brit-Pop music night in 2011. Apparently, the two frequented the same music events and establishments for years but never crossed paths until Parklife at Lucky Number Grill. Their love of music brought them together and this was clear on their wedding day.
Even more, their love of travel played a part. The two fell in love in Chicago, became engaged near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and visited London for their honeymoon. How very proper, considering the music that brought them together…
I loved that my friends were so willing to make their day their own and cast aside the typical traditions and expectations. To begin, I designed their invitations and told their love story via a Chicago L Map.
Traffic, travel, the city they love, and music were all prominent players from the get-go.
The beautiful photos taken by Photographer, Amy Aiello will tell the rest of their wedding story…stacks of vintage books, mobs of romantic candles, warm, deep-red flowers, postcard love notes and a Union Jack cake, made this particular Chicago wedding one-of-a-kind for a truly unique couple.
I am available to hire for custom invitation design, wedding signage, favors, homemade cupcakes, dessert tables and unique day-of ceremony and reception styling. Amy Aiello, whom I have been fortunate to have worked with before, is an extremely talented, Emmy-Award winning, professional photographer and I can not promote her services enough…she has the best eye in the city.
